VICTORIA, B.C. – The University of Victoria Vikes men's soccer team are just one game away from a CIS national championship berth. The Vikes enter the 2014 Canada West Final Four this weekend, hosted by Saskatchewan, with an opportunity to grasp one of two spots at the national championship. Tonight, Oct. 30, the Canada West announced four Vikes to the Canada West First Team All-Star list.
 
Vikes keeper Noah Pawlowski, defender Alex Redpath, midfielder Cam Hundal and striker Cam Stokes were all honoured on the First Team.
 
Pawlowski has been outstanding all season, starting 11 of 12 regular season games and making five key saves in the Vikes' 2-1 quarter-final win over Fraser Valley. The third-year transfer posted a .80 save percentage in regular season and had a 0.91 goals against average.
 
Co-captain and senior Redpath also started 11 games this season and has been an important leader in the Vikes' backfield. Redpath has two assists to his name and will be key for the Vikes entering this week's Final Four.
 
Fourth-year Hundal has always been a key offensive spark for the Vikes.  With two goals and three assists this season, Hundal consistently demonstrates his ability to not only score goals but also set them up. The former CIS Championship MVP and Canada West Rookie of the Year is a versatile and speedy player that most teams find difficult to contain.
 
As for fifth-year striker Stokes, the stats seem to speak for themselves. Stokes lead the Vikes with eight goals and one assist in regular season play and added two key goals in the quarter-finals. Stokes scored the opening goal and the 90^th minute game-winner against Fraser Valley to book the Vikes' ticket through to the conference Final Four. Stokes was recently named Canada West 1^st Star of the Week and will likely be one of the most dangerous forwards at the Final Four.
 
This the second Canada West All-Star award for Stokes and Hundal.
 
The Canada West Final Four kicks off on Friday, October 31 when the Alberta Golden Bears face the UBC Thunderbirds at 11:30 am CT.  The Victoria Vikes and the Saskatchewan Huskies vie for the other finalist slot at 2:00 pm CT.
