Following a heroic season with the 2012 CIS National Champion Vikes side, Hundal was honoured as the Canada West rookie of the year, the Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS)National Championship MVP and the University of Victoria's male rookie of the year.

Prior to his career with the Vikes, Hundal was a member of the Whitecaps FC Prospects program and now returns to the club joining a few familiar Canada West faces including Gagandeep Dosanjh and Navid Mashinchi, of the UBC Thunderbirds, James Farenhorst and Shawn Parkes, of the Trinity Western Spartans and Tyrin Hutchings of the Alberta Golden Bears.

“We're really pleased to bring in a quality group of players, and that's due to our close relationship with these collegiate soccer programs,” said Dan Lenarduzzi, Whitecaps FC director of soccer development. “We talked to the coaches and they recommended their top players to us – some of whom we've had in our program before.”

Among the 10 players announced, seven have previous ties to the Whitecaps FC development teams, while nine players have played college or university soccer in British Columbia.

“I am not surprised at all that Cam is signing with the Whitecaps (PDL team),” said UVic men's soccer head coach #Bruce Wilson#. “Cam has proven over the past year that he can play at that high of a level. I wish him good luck and look forward to getting him back here for the school season in August.”

In the post-season, Wilson and the Vikes men hosted the Vancouver Whitecaps FC MLS team for a friendly match at Centennial Stadium. Hundal was amongst the Vikes starting 11 that was edged 2-1 by the Whitecaps despite a very competitive game.

The newly coined Whitecaps FC U-23 team will take to the pitch for their first official match this Friday, May 4 at 5:30 p.m. at Swangard Stadium in Vancouver. The match is open to the pulic and admission is free of charge.
