HENLEY-ON-THAMES, England - The UVic Vikes men's rowing eight has advanced to the final eight of the Temple Challenge Cup at the Royal Henley Regatta.

TEMPLE CHALLENGE CUP RESULTS

On Canada Day, the Vikes scored their second victory of the Henley by comfortably defeating Eton College by four and a half lengths. The Vikes had previously beaten University of London B.

The Vikes will now face a stiff test Friday against the University of Washington freshman crew who won the Intercollegiate Rowing Association national crown in early June. Washington advanced with victories over Nihon University of Japan and University of Warwick.

Friday's race against Washington takes place at 10:30 a.m. Greenwich Mean Time.
