LEWISTON, Idaho - Victoria rookie
Megan Woodland led the no. 6 ranked UVic Vikes women's golf team to a third-place standing at the Warrior Invitational at Clarkston Golf Course.
Woodland netted another top 10 performance, carding a 20-over 164 to place sixth overall on the individual leaderboard. The Claremont graduate's performance helped the Vikes finish the 36-hole tournament with a total score of 91-over 667.
The Vikes lost out on the battle for second place, finishing a stroke behind host Lewis-Clark College. The Vikes made up nine strokes on the final day but could not catch the home team. Only 11 strokes separated second from fourth place, while no. 8 Concordia ran away with the team tile finishing 44-over 620.
Anne Balser was the Vikes next-best individual finisher placing 11th overall at 23-over 167.
Alyssa Herkel was right behind at 24-over 168, grabbing a share of 12th place. Michaela Misner came in 14th place at 26-over 170,
Kalli Gordon took 19th place after carding a 30-over 174, and
Stephanie Sykora finished in 21st at 31-over 175.
Next up for the Vikes is the Otter Invitational, taking place in Seaside, Calif. from March 30-31.
