Vikes overcome first-day deficit to win Warrior Invitational
MGOLF Jordan Ediger at Shootout
LEWISTON, Idaho - Overcoming a seven-shot first-day deficit, the no. 20 ranked UVic Vikes men's golf team came-from-behind to clinch the team title at the Warrior Invitational at Clarkston Golf Club.

The Vikes placed four players inside of the top 10, led by a 2-3 finish from Jordan Ediger and James Holland. Ediger, who won the Vikes Shootout in October, shot even-par 144, and Holland was three strokes behind at 3-over 147.

After the first 18 holes, the Vikes sat in second place and were seven strokes behind Rocky Mountain. But while the course endured heavy winds on day two, the Vikes maintained consistent play and wrested control of the lead with a combined score of 295. UVic finished 14-over 590 in the 36-hole tournament.

Rounding out the top performances by the Vikes, included an eighth place finish by rookie Sam Holland, who carded a 7-over 151. Senior Jake Moffat turned in his best scores of the spring campaign with an 8-over 152 to tie for 10th place. Jared Callbeck placed 24th at 14-over 158.

Rocky Mountain's D.J. Kovach won the individual title after finishing 1-under 143.

The tourney title is the first for the Vikes this season and comes as the squad heads into the post-season. In a months time the Vikes will travel to Salem, Ore. for the NAIA Regional Championship.
