Next season, a familiar face will be on the sidelines for the UVic Vikes women's rugby team. Brad Skene, who has previously served the program in two separate stints, will take over the reigns as head coach.

Fresh off capturing their first RCGA University/College Championships, the UVic Vikes women’s golf team has announced the addition of Kylie Frederick for the upcoming 2008-09 season.

Clint Hamilton, Director of Athletics and Recreation at the University of Victoria, has been appointed Canadian Interuniversity Sport President Elect. 

Four more UVic Vikes alumi have qualified for the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics. Canada's women's eight crew, featuring four former Vikes rowers, took top billing at the last-chance qualifier to earn an Olympic berth.

For the second straight year, the UVic Vikes will host a pair of NCAA hoops teams over the Labor Day weekend. This year the Michigan State Spartans and Pacific Tigers will face-off against the Vikes.
